Omar El Araby
Omar is born in Chiasso, Switzerland. At 19 he moves to Fribourg to study Physics and later he earns a PhD in Theoretical Physics and moves to Amsterdam to pursue an academic career. There he has his first contact with film and dedicates his free time to work with independent filmmakers in the region. His first realization is A City of Rust. Omar is currently busy with his second animation titled Suleiman’s olive tree.
Francesco studies Curative Education at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. He then works part-time as an educator and devotes his free time to his passion for painting and sculpture. His creative works span over many years and styles. His first contact with animation came when he was asked to design and animate A City of Rust. Francesco continues his animator’s journey with Suleiman’s olive tree.
Paolo graduates in Contemporary History in Bologna. From 2014 to 2016, he works for the Italian press in The Netherlands. In 2017, he finishes Giovedì, il giro produced by the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. His second film, Notes From CARA, supervised by Academy Award Winner Laura Poitras, and developed with the filmmakers’ collective Taliaproject, is now in post-production.
As a boy, Giacomo travels across South America, documenting the everyday life with his photographs. He then works on various film sets, quickly raising to the role of camera operator. In 2017 he enrolls at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. One year later he quits following a chaotic restructuring of the School. He now lives in Milan where he works as cinematographer.
